[RASMB] Fwd: Dr. H. Olin Spivey

RASMBrs -

I just received the sad news of Olin Spivey's passing last week (see 
below).  Olin was a Professor Emeritus at Oklahoma State University 
in Stillwater OK.  He was an experienced practitioner of AUC and 
other biophysical-chemical techniques of protein 
characterization.  He was very interested in exploring the mechanism 
of metabolic channeling, and its mediation via the formation of 
transient enzyme-enzyme complexes.  I remember meeting Olin for the 
first time at our initial RASMB conference in Melbourne in 1991.  He 
participated in several more RASMB conferences prior to his 
retirement a few years ago.   He was a careful scientist and a really 
nice, good-natured person.   If you wish, you can send condolences to 
his wife and family through Dr. Lehoux, whose email is given below.
