Dear colleauges,
Long time you heard at conferences and via rasmb communication about the SEGAL computer- program for sedimentation equilibrium SE evaluation. Some of you even try to use it.
The idea behind the program was to create >> a program for the poor <<, We mean for
non-specialists, who just want to achieve the molecular masses of the sample they deal with, not to worry for equilibrated or dialysed buffer/ blank ( not always possible) or even for conservation of mass during a run , that is often not self evident for biological solutions.
Until now every one could get the information from the net, (see reference 12 of the attached Segal-paper.) but this net information was uncompleted without the theory section.
WE attached a second NANOMEDICINE paper,(on a following mail to you to prevent to overload this mail) as an example, there are electron micrographs of samples that were also run by SE and evaluated with Segal. This non homogene particles with dark background that represent low molecular weight particles and causes a huge base absorption in the Auc cell. Even so, the information about the nano- particles is clear.
A third FASEB paper ( attached separatly on a third mail), shows how the achieved Segal evaluated results open new horizons for coil-coil binding. Te past year I presented at the London meeting the Nature Structure LiF /Lipase paper calculated with Segal.
Gia and me hope to help with this program to solve also some scientific non-solved questions with this simple instrument compared to new soffisticated programs.
