Dear All,

I'm pleased to announce that there is a new version of SViMULATE (1.5.3) available for download immediately at: https://www.utsouthwestern.edu/research/core-facilities/mbr/software/

If you're unfamiliar with that software, it is a standalone program for simulating SV data.

Improvements and additions from the last distributed version:

  1.
Addition of two simple interaction models.
  2.
Addition of repulsive nonideality.
  3.
Simulation of polydisperse species as a distribution of discrete species.
  4.
Simulation of band (or "analytical zone") centrifugation.
  5.
Explicit support for flotation and flotation/sedimentation combinations.
  6.
On-demand optimized finite-element grids.
  7.
A mass-action and kinetics widget for experimental planning.
  8.
Access to PDF tutorials through the Help menu.
  9.
Various bugfixes.

As usual, all of these are fully documented in the accompanying manual. Also, an article oulining most of these additions is now available at: https://rdcu.be/ekNHu

I hope you find the software to be useful. Finally, many of these additions were inspired by comments from users, so if you use the software and have a suggestion, please send it to me at chad.brautigam at utsouthwestern.edu.

Happy simulating,
Chad
