Dear Colleagues,

I am happy to announce the latest release of UltraScan-III (version 3.3,
Release 1854). Binaries for Linux, Mac OSX and Windows are available
for free download from: http://www.ultrascan3.uthscsa.edu/download.php

The major advance in this software version is the full support for
multiwavelength data in the Desktop software, LIMS and HPC backends.
A particular challenge has been the analysis of very large datasets
with several hundred independent wavelengths. A new submission
system is now in place that is capable of processing all datasets in
parallel (using parallel master groups) for simultaneous submission and
processing of almost unlimited number of datasets. All currently existing
multiwavelength detectors systems are supported by the new OpenAUC MWL
data format in UltraScan. All 2DSA/CG analyses, with or without Monte
Carlo are as of now supported.

Also, the new multiwavelength UltraScan-III release has been ported
to all existing LIMS instances. This includes all European instances
now hosted on the new LIMS server at the Forschungszentrum Juelich.

To all LIMS users from institutes in Europe, Middle East and
Skandinavia:

We have migrated your instance to the new LIMS server at the
Forschungszentrum Juelich to provide faster database service. Network
latency between Juelich will be much improved compared to the original
setup in Texas because transatlantic transmission of data is avoided.

We have carefully tested all software on Stampede, Lonestar, Trestles,
Alamo and Juropa, but some errors in the new setup are unavoidable. We
would greatly appreciate if you could please monitor carefully any
failures and inform us if anything is not working correctly so we can fix
it. If you have any questions, please contact either me or Gary Gorbet.

Happy computing!

-Borries
