Dear Ariel,

Thank you for the reference. Also thanks to all the very helpful comments
provided in response to my post. RASMB has been and continues to be a
valuable resource for me and our small group here.

Best regards
John Sumida

Subject: [RASMB] density mesuraments

Dear John Sumida, dear colleagues,
Since i`m long time retired, I can give only a small hint of my old
experience of measuring densities. it is a fact that every methods has
their
own pitfalls !!! and advances !!! p.e. using density with the
Analytical ultracentrifuge you avoid air bubbles in the solution
.I
like to give a reference of a method we developed appeared in
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta 1464 (2000) 199-206. <<Molecular weight
determination of membrane proteins by sedimentation equilibrium at sucrose
or Nycodenz -adjusted density of the hydrated detergent micelle<< by
Ariel Lustig,
Andreas Engel, Georgias Tsiotis, Ehud M Landau, Werner Baschong . At
reference N° 7 of the mentioned paper , is described a different methode
to measure density of particles with the AUC.
With best regards
.ariel
