Dear All,

Please be advised that there is a new version of REDATE that is available for immediate download. It is freely available to everyone from the MBR web site, http://biophysics.swmed.edu/MBR/software.html

For those of you who don't know, REDATE corrects time-stamp errors introduced by AUC's data-acquisition software. For more information on this problem, see Zhao et al., Anal. Biochem., 437, 104, and Ghirlando et al., Anal. Biochem., 440, 81. It works on absorbance, interference, and FDS data (the latter don't usually need time-stamp corrections, but we have seen cases where REDATE can correct corrupted FDS time stamps). The REDATing process is non-destructive to your original data, as it creates new, corrected copies in a subdirectory.

The new version has an added feature: it can "redact" (i.e. not copy) truncated data files that are sometimes written by the data-acquisition software. This is handy if you don't want to get an error upon loading the data into SEDFIT, for example. Thanks to Rodolfo Ghirlando for the suggestion!

If you experience in bugs in the program, please contact me by email: chad.brautigam at utsouthwestern.edu<mailto:chad.brautigam at utsouthwestern.edu>

Happy REDATing,

Chad
