Dear All,

I am pleased to announce the release of GUSSI version 1.0.8d.

For those of you who don't know what GUSSI is, it is a program that eases the plotting of data from SEDFIT and SEDPHAT analyses. You can go from analysis to publication-quality graph in just a few clicks. GUSSI also features utility functions that make your AUC life a lot easier.

For those of you who already use GUSSI, this release qualifies as a major update. To give you an idea of how much has been added since the last major release (1.0.5k, May 2013), the GUSSI manual has gained 50% more pages (and they are not all blank!). With the GUSSI download are some pdf tutorials and a pdf presentation of all of the new features and improvements. They include:

(1) Local parameter propagation.
(2) Customizable text labels.
(3) Legend label reordering.
(4) Y offsets.
(5) Residuals as markers instead of lines.
(6) The SE Data Sorter.

GUSSI may be downloaded as a .zip archive at http://biophysics.swmed.edu/MBR/software.html. Installation instructions are found in a README file that is included in the archive. Users who are upgrading from an older version are urged to rename the old executable, back it up to a safe place, and then install the new executable (just in case there are backward compatibility issues (which there shouldn't be)).

As always, if you encounter any problems, please contact me at chad.brautigam at utsouthwestern.edu<mailto:chad.brautigam at utsouthwestern.edu>. Also, many of the additions and improvements were suggested by users, so please keep those suggestions coming!

Happy GUSSIng,
Chad
