A postdoctoral position is available in the Late Stage Pharmaceutical
and Process Development Department in the lab of Steven J. Shire to
investigate the rheological properties of monoclonal antibodies.
Previous work done in this research program has established a link
between protein self-association behavior and the viscosity of the Mab
formulation. In particular studies using three closely related MAbs
have focused on contributions due to sequence differences, which has
resulted in collaboration with Mab Engineering in Research. Several
charge based mutants have been generated and will be used to further
explore the linkage between charge distribution and viscoelastic
behavior.
Requirements:
A Ph.D. in biophysics, biophysical chemistry or a related discipline.
The candidate must have excellent biophysical and/or protein
biochemistry skills and hands-on experience or knowledge of the use of
different biophysical analytical technologies. The candidate must be
highly self-motivated, have excellent organization, communication,
interpersonal and collaborative skills, and be willing to work
independently.
To apply: Please contact and submit resume to Steve Shire at shire.steve at gene.com
