Title: Intern
Location: MD, Gaithersburg - Corporate Headquarters

Major Duties and Responsibilities (including supervising others):
MedImmune has an open summer intern position in the Characterization
Group within the Analytical Biochemistry Department. The successful
candidate will be responsible for a project relating molecular
structures to in-solution biophysical properties
She/he will survey existing data, perform background physiochemical and
biophysical measurements, collate data sets and relate the data to
structural properties. He/she will need to be able to learn and
successfully use technical structure software including SOMO and PDB
file imaging and manipulation tools. The candidate will present and
discuss experimental results at group/project team meetings and present
a poster at an end of the summer internal poster session. Finally,
he/she must be able to work in a team structure and interface with
different research and development departments. 

Requirements/Qualifications:

Education: Must be a graduate student in mathematics or biophysics. 

Experience: Exeperience with the program SOMO required. 
Experience with the biophysical techniques AUC, viscometry, densitometry
highly desired.


Special Skills/Abilities: Computer programming and operation of
technical programs.


Job Complexity: medium

Supervision: Medium supervision. Once trained, experimental tasks are to
be performed independently.
