I am trying to calculate the partial specific volume for an isotopically labeled protein. I take the partial specific volume calculated from sedenterp and do the following:

Vbar (sedenterp from sequence)* (MW unlabeled/MW labeled)

For a fully 13C and deuterated normal protein this drops Vbar from 0.73 to about 0.68.
Has anyone done this before? This is of course only correct at a first approximation if one asumes that the volume of the protein does not change upon deuteration.
Any comments on this are welcome.

Thanks,

Gunther
