[RASMB] Mains power glitches

Dear RASMBers,

We have a problem on this site with power glitches.  These are not long 
enough to lose the rotation speed, but do crash the PC and scanning etc.
As I do quite a lot of sedimentation equilibrium work, this is a 
significant nuisance.  I have therefore recently fitted a UPS for the PC.

This has been completely successful in keeping the PC running - but all 
this has done is to let me discover that the DAB in the Beckman is also 
dropping out during the glitch, and communication is not re-established!

Has anyone else seen this effect?  Is so, have you looked into the 
possibility of supporting the DAB with a UPS?
