Dean,
there's a utility function in SEDFIT in the loading options, see
http://www.analyticalultracentrifugation.com/sedfit_help_loading_options.htm#exclude%20radial%20region
that does exactly that.  Afterwards, you can use the function "save raw
data" to save the corrected files in the XLA format.
