Dear Colleagues,

We are happy to announce a new service for analytical ultracentrifugation
analysis. We have installed a public web-based portal for the UltraScan
Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). This system works in
conjunction with the UltraScan database backend to provide data storage
for AUC and related data as well as experimental project tracking. The
system also offers public supercomputer access for the 2-dimensional
spectrum analysis which we will describe in further detail in London at
the 15th Intl. AUC symposium. The system integrates seamlessly with the
UltraScan software and can be used together with the UltraScan software
as long as Internet access is available. More information about the
UltraScan LIMS database backend can be found in:

for Analytical Ultracentrifugation Experiments. Modern Analytical
Ultracentrifugation: Techniques and Methods. D. J. Scott, S.E. Harding
and A.J. Rowe. Eds. Royal Society of Chemistry (UK) (2005) 210-229

In order to use the system a web account is required. A web application
can be found on the web at http://bcf.uthscsa.edu/ultrascan/. You can set
up a user account by selecting "User Area" on the main page. In addition,
you will need database and supercomputer access. This access will be
set up on an individiual basis, please e-mail me and we will send you
the necessary login information and a user agreement. The use of this
system is free to anyone, supercomputer time will be allocated based on
availability. Please contact me if you have any questions.

Regards, -Borries
