Dear SEDFIT Users,

there's a new version of SEDFIT ready to download, version 9.3b, at
http://www.analyticalultracentrifugation.com/download.htm

It has a number of bug fixes and some extensions. You can find the changes at
http://www.analyticalultracentrifugation.com/images/CHANGES9.TXT

The most important new functions are:
* the two-dimensional size-and-shape distribution, which can be displayed
as c(s,M), c(s,f/f0), c(s,D), etc.
* the general c(s,*) which is a diffusion-deconvoluted sedimentation
coefficient distribution very much like c(s),
both do not utilize any scale-relationship assumptions of a weight-average
f/f0, like c(s) and c(M).

In 2005, there have been > 100 peer-reviewed publications using the
conventional c(s) successfully. The new functions are tools only for rare
cases where the conventional c(s) is insufficient because of significant
heterogeneity in the frictional ratios (e.g., for samples of chemically
heterogeneous mixtures), as alternatives to the other options to address
such data sets (like segmented c(s) in SEDFIT or SEDPHAT). It also may be
useful to display the information content on both s and M, and to confirm
whether or not some information of the data went unused in the conventional
c(s). This is described in a current paper in Biophysical Journal (in
press, should be available through BioFAST shortly), and will be presented
in the AUC symposium and upcoming workshops. See also
http://www.analyticalultracentrifugation.com/c(s,m)_and_c(s,).htm

Another significant extension for the utility of SEDFIT is the
* serialization of the analysis (i.e. automatic application of an analysis
model to a series of cells from one run)

There is also a new sound interface.

I would appreciate if you let me know if there's a bug somewhere. Thanks.

Best regards
Peter
