[RASMB] Meniscus matching centerpieces

Hi Michael,
I am making my own meniscus matching centerpieces using a diamond point
pen and a metal straight edge (ruler). Under a magnifying lamp, I etch
a small channel across the two sectors about 1mm up from the bottom and
about 1mm down from the top only on one side of the centerpiece. Not
only do the etched lines have to be exactly parallel to the top and
bottom of the sector, they have to be deep enough to stay open after
assembly of the cell. In my case, usually by 8-10k rpm (30 seconds or
so) the meniscuses are matched. You can watch the process from the
fringe pattern and repeat the etching if they aren't matching.

Subject: [RASMB] Meniscus matching centerpieces

Hello everyone -

I am interested in acquiring some meniscus matching centerpieces. Does
anyone know if they are available commercially? (I saw some RASMB posts
from April 2004 alluding to the fact that they might be available from
CAMIS
at UNH.)

Failing that, are detailed drawings available anywhere?

Thank you for your help.
