Assoc Scientist I/II, MicroArray Specialist, #2040
Job Description 

We are currently seeking a MS/BS level Microarray Specialist for one of
our client pharmaceutical companies. The successful candidate will be
conducting research towards application of Affymetrix GeneChip®
technology in various aspects of drug discovery and development
(biomarker discovery, mechanism of action, proof of concept studies,
etc). 

 

Core responsibilities will require:  RNA purification and
characterization;  Mastery of Affymetrix GeneChip processes including ds
cDNA synthesis, cRNA synthesis, chip hybridization, and chip processing
and scanning; familiar with taqman qRTPCR and oligo design using Primer
Express; basic analysis of large experimental datasets using commercial
available software packages; and interpretation of microarray data. 

 

Job Requirements 

Education: BS/MS in bioscience/bioinformatics. 

 

Experience: at least 2 year experience with microarray technology. 

*	Familiarity with Affymetrix genechip system is strongly desired.


*	The successful candidate will be details-oriented with a strong
experimental background, familiar with some of the databases used in
microarray data analysis (Stanford Source database, NetAffx, MILANO,
GEO, GO, etc). 

*	Experience with PAXgene blood samples, expertise in selected
tools used in microarray data analysis (Spotfire, ArrayTrack,
Bioconductor, etc), and basic knowledge in Unix/Perl are highly
desirable.
