They are XL-I files (.IP1 etc) made in 2001 and backed up onto Zip disks to save on HDD space. Unfortunately the backup will now not restore. The disks say they were made with MWBACKUP – which is essentially MSBACKUP (standard Windows backup software) from what I can tell. The original <span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> computer </span> that made the backups, <span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> now long </span>gone, would have been Windows 95 or 98<span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"'> based</span>. I have set up virtual machines to mimic the backup software of the time but these have come up blank.<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>There are 3 disks with files organised as so:<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>.Trashes [folder]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal style='text-indent:36.0pt'><span style='font-family:Wingdings'>à</span>501 [folder, empty]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <span style='font-family:Wingdings'>à</span>._501 [file]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>DEFAULT [folder]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <span style='font-family:Wingdings'>à</span>CD10618A.FUL [folder]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <span style='font-family:Wingdings'>à</span>.DS_Store [file]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <span style='font-family:Wingdings'>à</span>CD10618A.001 [file, probably the data, .002 .003 for other disks]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal> <span style='font-family:Wingdings'>à</span>.DS_Store [file]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>.DS_Store [file]<o:p></o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal>I’ve tried MSBackup.exe from DOS6.22, Win95, Win98 (1<sup>st</sup> and 2<sup>nd</sup> ed.), Win2K, WinXP and WinVista (not Win7 as I think it is unlikely to work, but if you think otherwise then I’ll try).
