Nottingham is not only famous of course for Robin Hood but also boasts the 2 oldest pubs in Europe (The <EM>Trip to Jerusalem</EM> and <EM>Ye Olde Salutation</EM> - linked by caves and originally used as recruiting points for the Crusades), the Lace Museum and the Nottingham Forest football team. Standard Hill, next to Nottingham Castle, is where the English Civil War was started in 1642. Besides its great history it is also a very modern city and the Tram system was opened in 2004.</SPAN></FONT></P>
