SedVel60K-FDS sedimentation velocity centerpieces for the Aviv AU-FDS
system are available from Spin Analytical (<a class="moz-txt-link-abbreviated" href="http://www.spinanalytical.com">www.spinanalytical.com</a>). The
centerpieces are 2.5-mm deep and use standard cell housings. Sample
volumes are 65 uL per channel, and the centerpieces are rated to 60,000
rpm. The centerpieces are available as either charcoal-filled and
aluminum-filled epon. <br>
Other centerpieces available include the SedVel60K, SedVel60K-SB
synthetic boundary, SedVel60K-BF boundary forming , SedVel60K-MM
meniscus matching and SedVel60K-4 four-channel sedimentation velocity
centerpiece. All of these will work with the Aviv AU-FDS.<br>

AOS 1.2 is available from the RASMB software archive. <br>
<ol style="margin-top: 0in;" start="1" type="1">
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Make hard copy of calibration
parameters available (View/Logs/Calibration parameters…) so that users
may view/print and save the values used to operate the steppers.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Confirm problem with AOS if WindowXP
“theme” is used on host computer. Problem is complex and results from
an incompatibility of manifest used in handling image lists, computer
boards drivers and ODBC connections. Fix will be made when compiler is
upgraded.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Release DBUtilities. These will ensure
that experiment records are complete (incomplete records may result
from unexpected program termination… aka crashes). The database may be
compacted and the integrity of table links ensured.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Fluorescence focus form code
rewritten. Help added (click on ‘Help’ button), buttons laid out to
group focus determination and group radial calibration functions
separately.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Rewrite fluorescence focus stepper
code to use calibration parameters permitting focus motor to be handled
as any other scanning stepper. Rewrite scanner code to make stepper
handling consistent (no separate handling for the focus stepper).</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Add an ‘update database’ function to
the start up sequence. Previous versions of AOS software will not
function properly with an updated database.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style=""><span style=""> </span>Update the
“take single scan” button so that it toggles between “Start” and “Stop”
operations. Allow a single scan to be stopped gracefully. Fix problem
that caused program to crash due to an invalid directory if a single
scan was requested prior to starting an experiment. Now a user may take
a single scan any time the button is enabled.</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Make sure the focus lens position is
reset after reset of steppers</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Fix problem where comport does not
exist. AOS would freeze- now allows the user to select the correct
comport</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Refocus objective lens after <st1:place><st1:PlaceName>Com</st1:PlaceName>
<st1:PlaceType>Port</st1:PlaceType></st1:place> initialization</li>
<li class="MsoNormal" style="">Several small bug fixes and
improvements as suggested in Bugzilla.</li>
