Dear AUC Colleagues,

I wanted to share an exciting opportunity that might interest students you know who are considering careers in biotech and pharma.

The Biophysics Department at Johns Hopkins University is launching a new Master’s of Science in Biophysical Chemistry and Design for Biotechnology program<https://landing.advanced.jhu.edu/master-of-science-in-biophysical-chemistry-and-design-for-biotechnology/>, and we’re looking for students.

This program focuses on building essential skills in the theory and application of biophysical chemistry and computation to protein and RNA therapeutics. Our curriculum includes training in physical chemistry of macromolecules, computational analysis and design of macromolecules using physics- and AI-based methods, and lab techniques for screening and stability testing. Our faculty are highly respected in the field, and the coursework includes a mix of cutting-edge coursework and hands-on lab experiences, including a summer lab intensive. Students will train on instruments and software that are heavily used throughout biotech and pharma.

Classes will be held in person on the Johns Hopkins homewood campus in Baltimore. Students can either participate full- or part-time, completing the program in 10-24 months. The program is open to international students with visa eligibility.

If you know someone who might be interested, please encourage them to apply<https://applygrad.jhu.edu/apply/?sr=b1e1c3cb-2ea5-4d1f-a277-70f64dd89257>. Also encourage them to reach out with questions to me (Karen.Fleming at jhu.edu<mailto:Karen.Fleming at jhu.edu>) or to biophys_biotech at jh.edu<mailto:biophys_biotech at jh.edu>.

Best,

Karen Fleming
