[RASMB] RASMB Digest, Vol 67, Issue 2

Dear All,

The information I received from Beckman just a couple of hours ago was that
yes in fact, as alluded in Anthony's email, Beckman does provide a HEPA
filter kit that is compatible with systems that run TMPs.

However Beckman moved the position of the vacuum release three years ago
(this according to Beckman) so I do not know if this kit is compatible with
instruments that were sold prior to the modification.

Best regards
John Sumida

Hi Susumu,

The filtration system which can be incorporated onto the Beckman AUCs is a
higher specification than a HEPA filter. I can provide more information if
needed.

Best regards,

Anthony

We also run AUC of proteins in serum using commercial human and murine serum
(ref attached). Commercial human serum is usually tested for infectious
material before selling but it might need higher level of bio-safety if you
use serum from patients.
As for serum from health volunteer, it depends on the guideline of the
organization.

I guess AUC has filter not HEPA but "BioSafe optional dual PALL
Pharmaceutical-Grade Sterilizing Filters" which is installed for preparative
UC at the vacuum exhaust.

Best,
Susumu
