Coincidentally, we have a new algorithm (HullRad) that calculates hydrodynamic parameters that went online at BJ today. We wrote this because we wanted a program we could eventually call from simulations. HullRad is easy and fast to use, and the results are very comparable to the previous algorithms published by the pioneers in this field, including Jose Garcia de la Torre, Mattia Rocco and Olwyn Byron.

HullRad has an online web version, and the code is also available

Hi all,

I’m interested in predicting a frictional ratio given a *.pdb model. Is HYDRO my only option to do this or is there a simpler way that I’m missing? As far as I can tell SOLPRO will take a *.sol file and calculate a frictional ratio, and HYDROPRO will take a *.pdb and do some calculations, but HYDROPRO does not output a *.sol file and I get read errors trying to give SOLPRO the output of HYDROPRO.

Thanks in advance for your help! - Ron
