Finally, Beckman Coulter has generously sponsored two scholarships for the workshop available to graduate students and post-doctoral researchers. The scholarships pay the registration fee: travel remains the responsibility of the participants. All graduate students and post doctoral researchers are eligible to apply for the scholarship as long as they meet the basic criteria for the advanced workshop that they have already been trained in the basic operation of the analytical ultracentrifuge. Please contact David Hayes at David.Hayes at boehringer-ingelhem.com<mailto:David.Hayes at boehringer-ingelhem.com> if you are interested in applying for a scholarship to the workshop. Scholarships will be awarded based on need and potential to perform advanced AUC work in the future. You can write an email to me explaining how you have in the past and intend in the future to use AUC. If you have no chance of getting school funds for the workshop, you can write in your email your situation. However, the usual email of "need" would come from your advisor or from the person who manages the AUC you have used in the past or hope to use. Also feel free to have mentors or colleagues write an email of recommendation. The scholarships will be awarded on Thursday September 22.
