*Job Description*
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to fill the Scientist II
position in the Structure Characterization group within the Analytical
Biochemistry Department.
The major responsibilities for this position will be:
1) Development of structure characterization methods for
biopharmaceutical products, such as humanized monoclonal antibodies,
recombinant proteins, and vaccines;
2) Characterization and in-process testing by various biophysical
methods such as analytical ultracentrifugation, spectroscopy and light
scattering;
3) Participation in CMC and other cross-functional teams to support
analytical development of products in the pipeline. He/she will be
expected to work effectively in a team structure and interface with
different research and development departments.

*Position Requirements*
The successful candidate will be expected to bring in a strong
scientific expertise in biophysical protein characterization methods.
This position requires a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Biophysics,
Biochemistry or a related field with 3 to 10 years of relevant
experience, preferably working in a bioanalytical environment in an
industrial setting. A thorough understanding of biophysical
characterization techniques, such as analytical ultracentrifugation,
light scattering, CD, vibrational and fluorescence spectroscopy is
necessary. The candidate will also be expected to be familiar with SOP,
GLP and GMP requirements.
Previous experience with Analytical Ultracentrifugation (AUC) is a must
and required. Candidates without this skill, will not be considered.
Education:
Ph.D. degree or equivalent in Biophysics, Biochemistry or related field.
*Additional Notes*
The candidate must have expertise in the area of biophysical protein
analysis and in-depth knowledge of protein biochemistry. Strong
interpersonal skills, outstanding verbal and written communication
skills, including ability to effectively explain complex scientific
concepts to a broader, diverse audience, are essential. The candidate
must be able to multitask and work in cross-functional team environment.
