Dear Colleagues,

Please mark your calendar:

The date for the 2011 Analytical Ultracentrifugation/UltraScan workshop
has been set for June 2nd - June 6th at the University of Texas Health
Science Center in historic San Antonio.

Additional information and a registration form can be found online at:

http://www.ultrascan.uthscsa.edu (Click on the "Workshop" button).

The registration deadline is Friday, May 6th, 2011.
We have 20 seats available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Course Contents:

This course will focus on experimental design and analysis of analytical
ultracentrifugation (AUC) experiments. The goal of this workshop is to
provide participants with a solid background in hydrodynamics, and to
provide hands-on training with the new UltraScan-III software.

UltraScan-III is an entirely new release of UltraScan, with many
improvements over UltraScan-II. The emphasis will be on problem-solving
approaches in AUC, to teach optimal experimental design of velocity
and equilibrium experiments, and to use UltraScan to analyze data with
high-resolution methods and learn how to interpret the results.

The following sessions are scheduled:

Session 1: Theory and Background
Sessions 2-5:	Hands-on Software Training with UltraScan and SOMO
Session 6: Data Presentation
Session 7: AUC Mini Symposium - Confirmed Speaker List:

						* Thomas Laue, University of New Hampshire
						* Helmut Cölfen, Max Planck Institute Berlin
						* Glen Ramsay, Aviv Biomedical, NJ
						* Mattia Rocco, IST, Genova, Italy
						* Emre Brookes, UTHSCSA

Session 8: Global Data Analysis
Session 9: Instrument Maintenance and Error Diagnostics
