It's reassuring to know that so many of my colleagues are in the lab and are their usually helpful selves during this holiday week.  

Thanks for all the help. Lake was closest. The counterbalance was properly aligned but apparently we have two and one is "broken". The good one and the "broken" one got swapped out by accident. 

Changing the counterbalance and recalibrating the delay solved the problem.
