Dear RASMBers:

We have an opening for a postdoctoral fellow with experience in AUC and related biophysical techniques. Please forward the announcement below to qualified individuals.

Thanks,
Jim

An NIH-sponsored postdoctoral fellowship is available to investigate the linked equilibria that govern oligomerization of the SecA component of the Sec-dependent transport system. SecA is fundamental to ensuring the correct targeting and membrane translocation of preproteins destined for noncytoplasmic locations in bacteria. Candidates should have a Ph.D. in a relevant field with experience in the analysis of macromolecular interactions using analytical ultracentrifugation, fluorescence spectroscopy and related biophysical methods. The University of Connecticut offers a vibrant research environment for structural biology and biophysics (http://biophysics.uconn.edu) and houses an analytical ultracentrifugation facility equipped with three XL-I instruments and an AU-FDS fluorescence detector (http://www.biotech.uconn.edu/auf). Interested individuals should send their curriculum vitae and the names of three references to either James Cole or Debra Kendall, Department of Molecular and Cell Biology, University of Connecticut, 91 North Eagleville Road, U-3125, Storrs, CT 06269-3125, USA or email james.cole at uconn.edu or debra.kendall at uconn.edu .
