Novo Nordisk A/S seeks a research scientist for biophysical characterization of peptides and proteins

The Diabetes Research Unit is committed to the development of new pharmaceutical peptides and proteins to improve quality of life and treatment for diabetic patients. Our department is involved in elucidation of structures, biophysical properties and formulation aspects of peptides and proteins with the aim to develop safe, efficacious, and convenient formulations for subcutaneous delivery. We employ state of the art technologies to support several research projects from idea and optimization to the stage of development lead selection prior to first human dose. In our three teams, researchers and technicians work closely together with other units in the Diabetes Research Unit in a highly inspiring and challenging cross organisational environment. Our ambition is to continuously deliver the best solutions to ensure success and speed of our project pipeline.
Challenges
The department of Subcutaneous Formulation and Biophysics seeks an experienced research scientist to support and drive our work on the biophysical aspects of the development of proteins and peptides based liquid formulations. The preferred candidate will perform and interpret analytical ultracentrifugation studies on peptides and proteins. Other responsibilities include biophysical analyses such as fluorescence- and circular dichroism spectroscopy, calorimetry, TEM and their applications in structural biology and pharmaceutical development.
Qualifications
The successful candidate has a PhD degree with at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience and demonstrates a track record of employing biophysical methods to address protein and peptide chemistry issues as evidenced by patents and/or publications. A solid background with AUC applications is a prerequisite and experience with one or more of the above mentioned methods is highly desirable.

You should possess excellent collaborative skills and enjoy sharing results, ideas and experiences with your colleagues. Furthermore, clear and crisp communication in cross organisational and multi-disciplinary project groups should come natural to you.
