[RASMB] everything sediments... some things float

Hello everybody,
recently, a sample finally found its way to me that has floating AND
sedimenting (macromolecular) components. Both are detected and it is
important to characterize both, at least their partial concentrations.
So.... did I mention already that both fractions are polydisperse?
As far as I'm aware, no Lamm-equation based algorithm will calculate a
distribution going from negative to positive. Please do correct me if
I'm wrong!
I've performed synthetic boundary runs, so at least I have data with
upper and lower plateaus. Any suggestions on how to treat these data in
a model-independent way, i.e. where to put the (permeable) meniscus?
(Walter, my hopes are somewhat resting on Sedanal...?)
Have the ancient masters encountered anything like that before? How did
they deal with it?
Best wishes to all of you,
Holger
