Sednterp has an option to calculate vbar in the presence of urea or guanidine. This is probably based upon work primarily from Timasheff & coworkers. As a start see reviews in Methods Enzymol vol 61: chapter 3) Lee et al, chapter 4) Lee & Timasheff. Also Prakash & Timasheff, Anal Biochem 117, 330 (1981). Prakash et al ABB 210, 455 (1981).

As to intermediates there is some AUC data on this - maybe more with detergents but some data as a function of denaturant concentration - but you are now really in the realm of folders and need to ask a different audience about ensembles vs intermediates.

Hello to everyone,
Is there information available about how vbar changes during chemical induced protein unfolding / refolding, or how to assess the population of differently folded intermediates.
Thank you very much for your input.
Best wishes
Titus
