Greetings:

Regarding the temperature calibration experiment I think we have
a number of valuable suggestions now.

As Peter mentioned a sharp boundary would be desireable to improve the
resolution of the determined s-value. With respect to the sample I propose
to use a DNA fragment of sufficient, but not too large size in a buffer
with enough ionic strength to avoid concentration dependency problems.

The advantages are that DNA is very stable, produces a boundary
whose sharpness can be controlled by the length of the fragment,
can be obtained highly pure and also cheaply, and doesn't aggregate
or self-associate. Perhaps 200-300 bp of a linear fragment would be
appropriate.

I would also like to volunteer for data analysis and creating a (blind)
web repository for the data sets.
