13th International Symposium on Analytical Ultracentrifugation, 1st
Circular and Call for Papers

Dear Sirs,

I would like to invite you to the 13th AUC Symposium taking place in
Osnabrück, Germany on March 6th and 7th, 2003. The symposium is
organized under the auspices of the BASF AG, Ludwigshafen by the
Institute of Chemistry, Physical Chemistry of the University of
Osnabrück and will be without any registration fees. All topics related
to Analytical Ultracentrifugation are welcome:
    · Synthetic polymer solutions and gels
    · (Nano) Particles
    · Biopolymers
    · Progress in theories of ultracentrifugation
    · Hydrodynamics
    · Experimental development
    · Software development

We would appreciate if you give this information also to colleagues or
coworkers who might be interested.

The symposium site is the University of Osnabrück, Westerberg,
Barbarastrasse 7. The nearby city Osnabrück with his beautiful old town
is worth a visit and can be reached by public transport. Osnabrück was
personally founded by Charlemagne in 783.

The representatives of the warring powers negotiated for 5 years in the
town-hall`s “Hall of Peace” until the Peace of Westphalia, which brought
an end of the Thirty Years War, was finally announced on 25th Ocotber
1648 in Osnabrück and the neighbouring city of Münster.

The Battle of “Teutoburg Forest” in 9 A. D., where the Ancient Germans
put the Romans and their chieftain Varus to flight, actually take place
on Osnabrück`s door-step, in Bramsche-Kalkriese.

There will be the opportunity to present an lecture (20 min + 5 min
discussion or 10 min + 5 min discussion) or a poster. The presented
papers or posters can be published in a special issue of “Progress in
Colloid and Polymer Science”.
